Catatonic EP - AtlasCatatonic EP - Atlas
'This seemingly odd mix of styles might sound like a muso’s wet dream and not something the average listener would enjoy; however, with songwriting this good, not only is it great that it works at all, but it really is excellent stuff indeed with more than enough hooks to satisfy anyone into good music.'
The Daps - The DapsThe Daps - The Daps
'On first track “Not Very Interesting”, the lead moans that he wants “the world to hear what I’ve gotta sing, but I’m not very interesting.” Now if that’s not a happy accident, then The Daps are ironic geniuses.'
Echobeat - EchobeatEchobeat - Echobeat
'Echobeat are the South’s answer to a depraved amalgamation of Queens of the Stone Age grot and Rage Against the Machine deliverance'
The Haze EP - The HazeThe Haze EP - The Haze
'This band is really very good, the West country’s version of Dead!Dead!Dead! perhaps (certainly on second track ‘Slow Down Joe’). All they need to do is sort out the image; and not that these reviews amount to much, but PLEASE change your band name, because whilst a book shouldn’t be judged by the cover alone, I’m sure I’m not the only person out there to be put off by these factors. Let it be known, albums have been bought on the strength of their covers, but in just the same way as (even if you had never heard them) you damn well know you wouldn’t buy a Westlife album on the strength of the album cover!!'

'Nothing about this band sounds contrived or planned. I could be wrong, maybe their music is all written by session guys taking time out from writing for Girls Aloud, but hell, when it’s this good, who cares!?'
Chickenhawk - Chickenhawk
'This is exactly the sort of music that sounds great wobbling the shit out of the sub woofers in a club. Twenty people put their heads down and engage in ritual lunacy just waiting for that CRAZY bit when the acoustic guitars come in and it goes all country and western on us! '
Supercalifunkalistic - Los Skeletones
'Los Skeletones require very little brain power. It is not for the small-minded arthouse student and for the kids. It should probably come with an explicit content warning (Tipper Gore will be set FREE!).
But it’s GREAT!'
Smile For The Ladies - Lo*Chine
'You still won’t find anything particularly deep and meaningful, but whereas before, the band were just a bit of fun, now they are having fun in style! Champagne anyone?'
Soma High - Soma High
'There are a lot of bands that get unfairly compared to Muse these days. It is usually because they have some distorted basslines or the odd falsetto vocal here and there; a result of lazy journalists with little knowledge of music. However, in Soma High’s case I can’t help but compare them!'
